a
Vannes Echo Jazz: Jean-Philippe Breton national competition

Mar 11, 2025 | Agenda

The Vannes Echos Jazz festival is organising its national springboard for the 2025 edition, which will take place from 7 to 12 July in Vannes.

The winner of the springboard competition will be invited to perform as the opening act on the main stage at the ramparts on Friday 11 July 2025.

The aim of the competition is to support musical creation and the development of jazz projects throughout France. There are no age criteria for entering the competition. However, priority will be given to groups that are in the process of development and do not have established exposure.

This competition is open to all groups with an artistic project in development. Any band wishing to enter the competition must apply online using the form below before 30 March 2025.

Musical aesthetic is not a criterion in itself for selecting groups. All ‘forms of jazz’, instrumental and vocal, are therefore included (from its origins to contemporary creations).

Participants in the springboard must meet the following conditions:

  • form a group of no more than 5 musicians;
  • the winner of the Vannes Echos Jazz 2024 national springboard may not take part in the 2025 edition of the springboard;
  • present original compositions,
  • not be under contract with a record company,
  • A minimum of 6 months must elapse between the nomination of the winner and the possible release of an album on a label;
  • present the same musicians on the listening files as during the springboard in 2025;
  • be available on 11 July 2025 in the event of victory to perform on the main stage of the ramparts.
The closing date for applications is 30 March.
