3. I am admitted to IMEP

I start my administrative procedures

The administrative procedures on arrival differ according to the situation and status of each individual.

European students do not need a visa. International students from outside Europe must obtain information on the Campus France website or on the websites of French Consulates abroad. Since April 2021, international students can apply for their visa online on France-Visas. This new service is available to students applying for a long-stay visa residing in a country where the visa application is outsourced and available online.

I am a national of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland

If you are a national of a European Economic Area country (European Union (EU) countries and Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland, you do not need to obtain a student visa to study at IMEP.

You can find information on the specificities of life in France (housing, work, health, budget) on Campus France.

You must apply for a long-stay student visa (more than 3 months) in order to be allowed to stay and study in France.

Please note that it takes a long time to obtain a visa (from 3 to 5 months depending on the country). We advise you to apply as soon as possible.

4. I prepare my arrival in France

Once I have obtained my visa, I pay the tuition fees for my year and prepare my arrival in France. The Campus France website offers an arrival checklist.

Once your registration is complete, you will have access to the IMEP student area and will be able to consult your student guide.

If you do not speak French, courses will be offered at the beginning of the year to help you understand the IMEP programme and to support you during your first weeks in France. You can also take the online courses offered by the Alliance Française.
