Francois Chanvallon has been steadily building his name in the jazz scene as one of the future voices of modern jazz guitar. Combining timeless melodicism with forward-thinking textures and sounds, Francois uses music as a way to cover topics that are dear to his heart such as global warming, racism…

Francois’ music career started in Paris’ metal scene with his bands Adastrae and Promethean. With Adastrae’s first record Vice Versa, Francois used the power, heaviness and roughness of metal to sensitize people on societal problems such as exclusion with the song “The Fall,” and racism with “Our Hope, Our dream.”

Continually trying to redefine his sound and approach to music, Francois saw in Jazz the perfect opportunity to express other aspects of his artistic vision. Using the openness and freedom of that style, he covers topics related to nature and peace.

Deeply rooted into the jazz tradition, Francois is now composing his first album as a bandleader. For this first record, Francois seeks ways to combine his previous metal experiences with his jazz style to create something eclectic and new. He plans to deliver it to the public in 2018.
