A journey through literature, history and the world through the African diasporas, from Afro-descendant writings to today’s Black Live Matters. With Sélène Saint-Aimé on double bass, alumna of IMEP • Paris College of Music.

Starting with the poetic work Black-Label, written in 1956 by Léon-Gontran Damas, actor and rapper JoeyStarr, stage director David Bobée, jazz musician and singer Sélène Saint-Aimé and singer and dancer Nicolas Moumbounou take on some of the greatest works of anti-racist poetry.

They will be on stage at the Opéra de Rennes on April 6, then in Lyon on June 2 as part of the Les Nuits de Fourvières festival.


Sélène Saint-Aimé has released two albums, Mare Undarum and Potomitan. His debut album won him a 2021 Victoire du jazz award in the “Revelation” category.
