The ECUJE, Espace Culturel et Universitaire Juif d’Europe, is organising an orchestra competition which will be awarded on 4 May with the René Urtreger Prize.
The aim of this competition is to reward the future of jazz in France by allowing the best groups to present their work before a jury of recognised professionals.
This exceptional evening will see the 5 finalists of the competition take the stage and one of them will be awarded the René Urtreger Prize of the ECUJE.
The jury consists of 6 permanent members, each with the same number of votes:
-Frédéric Charbaut – Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain des Prés
-Alex Dutilh – France Musique
-Olivier Hutman – Musicien, programmateur Jazz à l’Ecuje
-Alice Leclercq – Jazz News
-Francis Marmande – Le Monde
-Daniel Yvinec – Ancien directeur de l’Orchestre National de Jazz, directeur artistique.
The competition is open to jazz musicians up to the age of 30, living in France.
