Yassin Kramdi becomes professor at IMEP

Pianist and composer Yassin Kramdi will be teaching workshop classes to Cycle Libre students from the start of the new academic year! A graduate of IMEP, class of 2015 with Jeff Ballard, Yassin Kramdi is back at school, and this time on the teaching side!

IMEP is where I built my career as a musician, it was a decisive stage in my life. Coming back to teach there is like coming home.

I’m delighted to be able to continue to be part of this wonderful family and, in turn, to pass on everything I’ve learned.

Yassin taught jazz piano at the Sens conservatoire (89) for several years, before taking over as artistic director of the “Juste Debout” international hip-hop dance festival.

His inspiration has come from numerous appearances on the Paris stages (Bellevilloise, Maroquinerie, Olympia, Sunset/Sunside, as well as a 3-year residency at Le Baiser Salé) and a wide range of collaborations (jazz, soul, hip-hop…).

A member of the trio Les 3 Petits Points, he is currently working on an album with his accomplices Corto Vermée (IMEP class of 2017 with Alain Jean-Marie) and Antoine Bergeron, and continues to teach (Paris 8, Le Perreux-sur-Marne, Sunjazz courses).
