Chocho Cannelle
A resolutely modern jazz quartet combining electric and acoustic instruments, writing and improvisation, contemporary jazz and Latin sounds. The four musicians succeed in marrying such original timbres as electric llanera harp, clarinet, rhodes and drums. Without a bassist, the harp and moog share the role. The repertoire, mainly composed by drummer Léo Danais, reflects his multiple inspirations, ranging from jazz to world music. The band’s influences include drummers Makaya McKraven and Stéphane Galland, producer Bonobo and harpist Edmar Castañeda.
