IMEP alumna Minh Boutin releases her first solo musical project, Ginkgökoko.

A hybrid project, Ginkgökoko blends electronic, half-pop, half-experimental music with classical and jazz fusion influences, as well as visual and digital arts. His productions combine vocals and vocal textures, soundscapes and instrumental piano. Ranging from hyperpop to ambient, while drawing on influences from classical, minimalist and jazz fusion, Ginkgökoko ventures into sound worlds reminiscent of Björk, Radiohead, James Blake, Floating Points and Flying Lotus.

Minh Boutin graduated from Ecole Estienne in design and digital creation, and in jazz piano from IMEP – Paris College of Music. She is a visual artist, composer and producer, pianist and singer. She works in a variety of media, including photography, video, programming, sound and performance.

Since 2022, she has been composing music for films and interactive installations, and working as a visual artist for various artistic productions at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains.

Ginkgökoko is her dreamlike musical garden, where all her influences and practices merge, from composition to improvisation, visual arts to VJing, music production to sound design, and music therapy.

Alongside Ginkgökoko, Minh Boutin is also developing “Devenir Eau”, an immersive live project with guitarist Nguyen Lê and photographer Christophe Charpenel, combining photography, musical improvisation and Vjing.
