Montegu & Grey at the Melville

Paris-trained jazz virtuoso Gautier Montegu and New York soul singer Angela Grey join forces to revisit the Great American Songbook. Between melancholy ballads and spellbinding swing, their captivating music touches the soul and delights jazz fans.

Gautier Montegu is a young virtuoso trained at IMEP (Paris College of Music) and the Conservatoire de Paris, who has developed an immoderate taste for music rooted in the jazz tradition.

Angela Grey is a singer from New York who has performed in some of the city’s most famous clubs, including The Bitter End, Club Groove, Clubroom at the Soho Grand Hotel and Birdland Jazz Club.

Trained in classical singing from an early age, she has since discovered and honed her natural soul voice, which is comparable to those of Norah Jones, Eartha Kitt and Dinah Washington.

Recently, Angela Grey has taken part in projects led by major producers such as Gabe Valle, Tommy McCormick, Joe Carrel and the multi-Grammy award-winning Eduardo de la Paz.

Now based in Paris, she performs in trio or quartet in the clubs of her adopted city. Audiences can discover the soulful tone of her interpretations of the Great American Songbook, as well as pop songs that she likes to revisit with a touch of jazz.

Between melancholy ballads, intimate swing and standards from the Great American Song Book, Gautier and Angela navigate with ease and elegance!
