The Esaïe Menou Quartet is a meeting of four musicians with diverse influences. The project was initiated by Esaïe Menou, guitarist, singer, composer and arranger. Originally from Benin, his music is steeped in traditional Beninese rhythms, which he blends with jazz, one of the musical styles that inspires him most today.
It’s a lively, oral music in which improvisation plays a major role. Savvy, danceable, sometimes unpredictable but always inspired, it’s unlike anything we’ve heard before.
This original repertoire is carried by musicians chosen by Esaïe for their sound and musicality. The complicity between them is palpable, and each concert is a journey of warm, flamboyant sounds from which you won’t emerge unscathed!
