IMEP • Paris College of Music announces a new partnership with Cyprien Mélange on the Jam & Talk project to promote jazz and related music genres and offer visibility to young emerging artists.

In 2024, Cyprien, a former student at IMEP • Paris College of Music, pianist, composer and content creator, launched his Twitch channel and made a name for himself with an original format: mashups, or live compositions combining video game soundtracks and jazz standards. Through his live performances, he explores new ways to share his creativity and brings together a community around his passion for music.

Today, Cyprien returns to IMEP to devise a unique project that blends podcasting, live concerts and artistic exchange: Jam & Talk.

Jam & Talk ,a live podcast at the heart of IMEP

Produced and hosted by Cyprien Mélange, Jam & Talk is a monthly podcast broadcast live on Twitch from the IMEP studios. Each episode highlights a band or artist from the school, providing ample space for discussion, improvisation and live performance.

For an hour and a half, alternating between interviews and music, the guest artists share:

• their journey and experiences at IMEP,
• their influences and creative process,
• their view of the reality of being a musician today,
• original pieces, performed live in professional conditions.

With the spontaneous and relaxed atmosphere unique to Twitch, Jam & Talk offers an accessible, lively and authentic format, designed to reach a wide audience while showcasing the richness of the current jazz scene.

Strong objectives: visibility, sharing and support

Through this partnership, IMEP and Cyprien aim to:

• Introduce the music and projects of students and alumni to a wider audience.
• Promoting jazz and related music genres in a modern and interactive format.
• Give emerging artists or those in the process of becoming professional artists a voice by offering them visibility and reusable content (video clips, live performances, interviews).
• Create a space for discussion about creativity, influences and developments in the music profession.
  

Jam & Talk thus becomes a veritable laboratory for artistic expression, where words and music intertwine to showcase the diversity of aesthetics embodied by IMEP artists.

With this partnership, IMEP · Paris College of Music affirms its commitment to supporting creativity, innovation and the professional development of young artists.
