On 21 November, IMEP • Paris College of Music will welcome Adam Teixeira, internationally renowned drummer and percussionist, for a unique masterclass based on his new workbook: Flipping Beats. This event promises to be rich in groove, innovation and practical learning for drumming enthusiasts of all levels.

Flipping Beats is a genuine method designed to revolutionise drummers’ approach to rhythm.

Adam Teixeira will unveil the key concepts of his work, emphasising creativity, variation, and concrete musical application.

During the session, participants will discover how to:

  • Building grooves organically (beginner to advanced level)
  • Develop unique rhythmic ideas through targeted exercises
  • Explore game concepts inspired by musical cultures from around the world
  • Integrate these techniques into their own musical practice, both in the studio and on stage.

Adam Teixeira: Originally from Toronto, Canada, and now based in London, Adam Teixeira is an artist deeply influenced by his travels, international collaborations and openness to diverse musical traditions.

His playing, described by JazzWise as ‘fluid precision and a sound palette ranging from Cuba to India’, transcends genres.

He has performed and recorded with many renowned artists, including Greg Osby, Pat LaBarbera, Guthrie Govan, Tony Malaby, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Ingrid Jensen, Vitor Pereira, Tony Kofi, and many others.
His teaching approach reflects his career: open, innovative, and deeply human.
