Skate 3001 is the daring encounter between Nils Josselin‘s guitar and Faniry Andrianarisoa’s drums: an inventive duo with original compositions, combining jazz, trippy rock and rhythmic freedom.

A guitar-drum duo, minimalist in form yet rich in intent. With Skate 3001, guitarist Nils Josselin and drummer Faniry Andrianarisoa have created a bold, free and surprising soundscape. Composed exclusively of original pieces, Skate 3001‘s repertoire is the result of a year of in-depth work, begun as part of Nils Josselin’s DEM at the CRR in Paris. A young guitarist on the rise who has already performed at several leading venues on the jazz scene, Nils’ playing draws as much on the classical tradition, in the style of Francisco Tárrega, as on the modern soundscapes of Bill Frisell. At the crossroads of jazz, psychedelic rock and chamber music, his guitar becomes a complete instrument: melodic, percussive and textural. In dialogue with him is Faniry Andrianarisoa, a Franco-Malagasy drummer who is very active on the Parisian scene and has distinguished himself in numerous jazz, groove and Afro groups with his rare rhythmic sensitivity and infectious energy. Also a regular at Le Baiser Salé, he brings to this duo all his interpretative richness and sense of narrative.
