Recital Éric Ferrand-N’Kaoua, piano at Salle Cortot
“I like,” says EFNK, “to reveal in a single arc the secret links that unite the variations and lead the listener, through their kaleidoscope, back to the refined return of the initial theme.”
In the second half, he will display his full range of sound in Robert Schumann’s mysterious Fantasiestücke Opus 111, with its passionate lyricism. Then comes the influence of jazz with the disjointed swing of Stravinsky’s Piano Rag Music, followed by Voyage en Anatolie (wild choruses on Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm) by Martial Solal, the great pianist and composer who passed away at the end of 2024.
Finally, George Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue, in the composer’s original version for solo piano, will conclude this free journey through time and across continents, filled with optimism and peaceful coexistence.
