Cristina Vilallonga at the Studio de l’Ermitage
Album release : Carnets sonores (label NOWLANDS – 2026)
The CARNETS SONORES project was born out of an atypical artistic journey and aims to create a true sound biography, in the style of a musical travel journal.
Cristina Vilallonga, originally from Spain, trained at the Aula de Música Moderna I Jazz in Barcelona and at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her contemporary compositions draw on a wide range of influences, from folklore to Bartok, Stravinsky, and the tango of Troilo and Piazzolla, as well as new tango, jazz, and Latin American folklore. Her deeply personal writing goes beyond imitation of styles to weave a unique language that is lively, free, and rooted in a search for timbre between acoustic instruments. Each piece develops its own universe, blending mystery, modernity, and creative vitality. With this recording project, she hopes to highlight the diversity of her work and extend its momentum in her concerts.
After a long career as a singer and songwriter, particularly in chamber music and in the service of dance and cinema, she now reveals the intimate source of her creativity through new compositions, and, thanks to CARNETS SONORES, invites the public to join her in this universe.
