Balaphonics, release party at Café de la Danse

After celebrating their 10th anniversary by releasing their second album Spicy Boom Boom in 2021, Balaphonics are back to mark a new beginning.

This brassband from the Paris region is ready to give you a taste of their afro-funk specialities, in a fusion as explosive in energy as it is diverse in mood.
The icing on the cake is that Balaphonics will be joined by the rising star of the Parisian Afro-Soul scene: singer Mary May, who has successfully integrated herself into the group while taking it into new and hitherto unexplored spheres.
Mary May (a Frenchwoman of Congolese origin), who the group has been working with for 10 years, was the perfect choice, with her ability to juggle Lingala, English, soul, rap and more traditionally inspired tracks with a Congolese rhumba groove.

The next album, BALAPHONICS & MARY MAY, moves between optimism, a call to ecological awareness, a reflection on ancestors whose names we don’t know, and self-confidence. So many themes in tune with the collective and individual reflections inherent in our times.
