People residing in France are required to register with the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM). This organization covers the majority of healthcare costs and is free of charge.
International students from a European Union country may use their European Health Insurance Card.
International students from outside the EU must register on the website etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr and follow the procedure in order to receive their Social Security number.
