Madame Helmie Bellini & Ralph Lavital

‘il était une voix’ is the title of the open musical book being written about the artist Madame Helmie Bellini.

The first chapter gave rise to a series of concerts that inspired the creation of the album of the same name
released in January 2011 (‘coup de coeur’ mention by Jazz man – Jazz magazine).
In the next chapter, new pages were written with the masterful “Kongo Square” ensemble, which returns to the closest African roots of jazz:
, through song, Kongo rhythms and ancestral African rhythms resurrected in New Orleans.

Helmie Bellini is a committed artist who is keen to pass on her talents and
share them in a variety of ways, as well as musically awakening young audiences. She was the voice-over artist for the Jazz In Marciac Off festival from 2012 to 2018. Her voice was also heard on Enghien Idfm in 2017/2018, where she chronicled her vision of jazz and music. Since 2021, this vision has come to life “live” with her Bavard’Jase get-togethers.

2025, Madame Helmie Bellini picks up where the musical intermission left off. Nourished by everything that has opened her eyes, her heart and her soul over the past 25 years of self-production, it is more mature, more solid, more grounded, sunnier, more magnetic, more poised and taller than ever that, in the company of guests, she will be celebrating all the ground she has covered here.
