The workshop consists of masterclasses, group discussions, and individual lessons. <\/p>\n\n<p>Each of the pieces composed will be performed at the end of the course by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/programme\/orchestre-des-jeunes-7\/\">the musicians of the ONJ Youth Orchestra<\/a><\/strong> during a public recital.<\/p>\n\n<p>For this fifth edition, trainees will be supervised by <strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Maurin<\/strong> (Ping Machine, artistic director of the ONJ from 2019 to 2024) and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/artiste_associe\/stephane-payen\/\">St\u00e9phane Payen<\/a><\/strong> (Th\u00f4t, The Workshop, head of the Jazz and Improvised Music department at the CNSMDP), under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/musicien\/sylvaine-helary\/\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/musicien\/frederic-maurin\/\">Sylvaine H\u00e9lary<\/a><\/strong> <\/a>(artistic and general director of the ONJ since January 2025).<\/p>\n\n<p>Four masterclasses will be given by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/artiste_associe\/marc-ducret\/\">Marc Ducret<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.sarahchaksad.com\/about\">Sarah Chaksad<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yingwang.de\/index.php\">Ying Wang,<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/camargofoundation.org\/fr\/fabrizio-cassol-biographie\">Fabrizio Cassol<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The Academy also offers an introductory workshop on conducting.<\/p>\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dates <\/h6>\n\n<p>April 17 to 25<\/p>\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beneficiaries<\/h6>\n\n<p>Professional musicians of all ages, from diverse artistic backgrounds and horizons, who already have significant experience in composition (regardless of the type of ensemble) and wish to deepen, question, or renew their practice.<\/p>\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Numbers<\/h6>\n\n<p>The workshop is open to eight composers, who must attend the entire workshop (including the preparatory meeting scheduled via video conference).<br\/>The masterclasses will also be open to guest students.<\/p>\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Location<\/h6>\n\n<p>\u2022 Masterclass and tutoring: <strong>Paris Conservatory of Music and Dance (75019).<\/strong><br\/>\u2022 Rehearsals and performance: <strong>Pina Bausch Conservatory in Montreuil (93100).<\/strong><br\/><\/p>\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule and content<\/h6>\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Composition for combo and large ensemble<\/strong><br\/>Each intern will be assigned a tutor who will assist them in writing their piece.<br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/artiste_associe\/frederic-maurin\/\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Maurin<\/a> will assist four trainees planning to write a piece for a large ensemble, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/artiste_associe\/stephane-payen\/\">St\u00e9phane Payen <\/a><\/strong>will assist four trainees planning to write a piece for a combo (between four and six musicians).<br\/><br\/>\u2022 Tutoring<br\/>Private lessons with the tutor to further develop composition work with personalized advice.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong>4 Masterclass <\/strong> <br\/><strong>With <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/artiste_associe\/marc-ducret\/\"><strong>Marc Ducret<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.sarahchaksad.com\/about\"><strong>Sarah Chaksad<\/strong><\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yingwang.de\/index.php\"><strong>Ying Wang<\/strong><\/a><strong> and <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/camargofoundation.org\/fr\/fabrizio-cassol-biographie\"><strong>Fabrizio Cassol<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<br\/><\/strong>A documented and reflective look at an aspect of musical language explored by the composer in their working methods. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Introductory workshop on conducting<\/strong><br\/>led by an experienced conductor.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Composition time \u201cin situ\u201d<\/strong><br\/>Trainees will have access to workrooms to develop their compositions.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Exchange workshop \u2013 Female composers<\/strong><br\/>A workshop led by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onj.org\/direction-artistique-sylvaine-helary\/\">Sylvaine H\u00e9lary<\/a><\/strong> will be offered exclusively to female composers from the Academy as a space for discussion and exchange on the challenges of being a composer of creative and jazz music today: career paths, obstacles encountered, and professional prospects.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Rehearsals and public performance<\/strong><br\/>At the end of the workshop, the composers will conduct their pieces in concert.
